Shop For Silent Tears: A Journey Of Hope In A Chinese Orphanage

My son is adopted from foster care so adoption and the plight of children is something very near and dear to my heart. Even though I have not adopted from China, I found this book to be both eye opening and heartbreaking. It was obvious the frustration at the limited help the author could offer these children and, at the same time, the love she had for them all. Too often, what is really going on day to day in these orphanages is hidden from everyone either by not allowing anyone into the orphanage or by bringing out the toys, cleaning up the kids, etc. when they know visitors are coming. This book really helped me understand what the day to day lives of these children are like.

I plan to pass this book on to a friend whose nephew was adopted from a Chinese orphanage less than a year ago when he was four years old. They were never allowed to see where he had been living. I think this book will help them understand some of the behaviors they are seeing with him and may make it easier for them to transition him completely to being part of a loving family.Get more detail about Silent Tears: A Journey Of Hope In A Chinese Orphanage.

Picking Cotton: Our Memoir of Injustice and Redemption Best Quality

One of the most inspiring stories and the human spirit and how it can recover and learn the love and trust again. I had the pleasure of meeting Ron Cotton and Jennifer at my son's school recently and heard part of their story in person. They are two amazing people.

Sincerely,

Dr. Christine BrunoGet more detail about Picking Cotton: Our Memoir of Injustice and Redemption.

The Real Benjamin Franklin (American Classic Series) Order Now

If you want to know the "real" Franklin, read his autobiography and/or the superb biography by Walter Isaacson. A FAR better view of the real Franklin than this book. I rather meet the true-to-life Franklin shown in the latter two works than the white-washed one presented in this book.

- a Vietnam-era Vet with 12 years as a USAF officer.

Fighter Pilot: The Memoirs of Legendary Ace Robin Olds Right now

Legendary fighter pilot telling the Air Force's true story in a compelling and 'down-to-earth' style. I was truly proud to be part of the USAF's fighter pilot force in SEA and can attest to Robin Olds' influence even when I participated in 1971. His story is about dedication, daring and real achievement in a time in our history when we needed his insightful leadership. For me, the book has filled in many gaps in my perceptions of the time; a must read.Get more detail about Fighter Pilot: The Memoirs of Legendary Ace Robin Olds.

Purchase The Real George Washington (American Classic Series)

If you want to learn about the American Revolution and its cause this is the book for you. Outstanding book and well researched and what I read in this book most of the events were never taught to me as I was going to elementary school and high school and I am over age 50. This book describes the ups and downs George Washington faced when he was commander of the contential army in 1776 through the end of the war in 1781. This book just highligts the fact of what free men will do to fight for the freedom of the American cause during the tryanny rule of the British empire in that time.Get more detail about The Real George Washington (American Classic Series).

Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison Best Quality

Read the free chapter sample and thought it was good, that's where the good ended.
A book on buying toothpaste, making cheesecake and the really sexy stuff like taking a shower without a full curtain.
Some scary parts like when Larry kissed her a second time and got yelled at by one of the guards.
Sorry, I think I just gave the whole story away.
