Traveling with Pomegranates: A Mother-Daughter Story
I read this book for book club and having liked The Secret Life of Bees and Mermaid's Chair was looking forward to it. I thought it was lacking in every way possible and made me want to say shame on you Sue! I could not figure out where this rambling, petty, silly redundant, superficial book was going until I realized that it was Sue's attempt to help her daughter launch a writing career. I felt taken advantage of and will probably never read anything if Ann Kidd Taylor does write it and may not ever read anything else by Sue Monk Kidd. I gave this book one star because I could not give it zero. By the way, they did not even get the Greek myth upon which it is based completely correct, it had several glaring grammatical errors and both of them seemed petty and silly. Ann Kidd was not inspired by the prehistoric cave drawings that she had the good fortune to be able to see, but was rather consumed with thinking about losing her identity, for no apparent reason, in her upcoming marriage. REALLY?Get more detail about Traveling with Pomegranates: A Mother-Daughter Story.
