I picked this book up at the library and am not sure why it caught my attention. I started reading it and found it to be well written, engaging, genuine, and with depth. I learned a lot but was also carried along by the story of the lives of those who Dr. Verghese treated. I understood his love for his patients and appreciated the challenges that he faced.
